It is the world’s first fully built smart and sustainable city district and the new destination for living, leisure and business. The city adopts the latest advanced smart services and applications for a new fully digital experience.

The prime location in the heart of the capital makes it the perfect location for retail, commercial, residential and civic services. The development has 10,000+ parking lots to provide hassle-free parking for tenants, visitors and contractors.
Convenient vehicle access to tenants and visitors
Msheireb Downtown is a smart city since its inception and adopts the latest advanced technology features in its infrastructure and aim to create a hub of activity, where people return once again to live, work, shop and spend time with family and friends. With 10,000+ parking bays available, it was important to provide seamless and hands-free parking access to tenants and visitors which could meet the digital requirements of the development. Nedap’s UHF RFID product line turned out to be the right solution.
– Seamless parking access to tenants
Nedap’s uPASS Reach UHF RFID reader with a read range of up to 7 meters was integrated with the parking management system to provide convenient and hands-free vehicle access at the entry gates. UHF combi-cards were assigned to tenants as identifiers. This UHF combination of uPASS Reach and combi-cards made sure tenants would be identified and access was granted on the go.
– Subscription-based parking access to visitors
By issuing combi cards restricted to only parking gates, the team was able to grant seasonal paid parking access to frequent visitors and contractors. By doing so, they were able to extend seamless parking access even to visitors and contractors.
Easy installation and perfect fit for automatic vehicle identification
The uPASS Reach is a UHF RFID reader for long-range vehicle identification. It is ideal for convenient vehicle access to car parks and gated communities. Featuring a slim housing, the uPASS Reach fits perfectly in any vehicle gate environment. The built-in beeper and high-intensity LED provide audible and visual feedback on the identification of a tag in all operating modes.
Seamless parking access control
With the solution implemented, Msheireb Properties have been able to secure their parking facilities and also provide seamless vehicle access control to tenants through the use of combi cards. Additionally, they are able to offer access based on a subscription mode for visitors who would like to have seasonal access. The project was successfully executed by our partner in Qatar, Traffic Tech (Gulf) W.L.L.
