Off-street parking
The outdoor spaces are monitored by SENSIT smart parking sensors and indicated per row via a display board. With the help of Nedap Identification Systems and Dambach, congestion has been kept to a minimum and customer service at a maximum at Sainsbury’s car parking facilities at Slough.
Optimizing the parking experience
Against the background of today’s competitive retail environment, Sainsbury’s wanted to provide a high level of customer service not only in their supermarkets but in and around them as well. One of their aspirations was a parking guidance system to direct customers easily to free parking spaces. The Dambach parking guidance system was installed on the Slough site.

A large part of the car park is covered by a roof, but many parking spaces are located out of doors. Dambach’s ultrasonic sensor was considered suitable for indoor parking. For the outdoor spaces, an induction loop was suggested as a solution, however Sainsbury’s was against each space being installed with a loop due to aesthetic reasons.
