Nedap and Technolution join forces to bring Dutch cities together on parking issues during the Lunch & Learn Round Table. On the 4th of March, Mobility Advisors and Parking Managers from different Dutch cities shared their challenges, experiences and solutions regarding the value of parking data to optimize the parking capacity and data driven parking policy. The goal of this virtual round table was to connect, cooperate and share knowledge on parking and mobility topics amongst cities.

Optimizing parking capacity with parking data

Does better use of parking capacity lead to higher satisfaction among residents and visitors? Is parking guidance necessary to optimize the traffic flow in the city? What is the value of parking data to optimize the utilization of parking capacity in a city? These questions are more relevant than ever as industry trends show that rapid urbanization is leading to a growing number of cities. Not only the population, but also the number of vehicles is strongly increasing. This combined with reduced parking capacity, results in parking congestion in cities.

Sharing knowledge and experience during Lunch & Learn Round Table

To keep the city center livable and safe for residents and visitors, it is desirable to make optimal use of the existing parking capacity. But how do you realize this? And what is the value of parking data? Nedap and Technolution join forces to bring Dutch cities together to discuss these kind of questions during the virtual Lunch & Learn Round Table on the 4th of March. The goal was to connect, cooperate and learn from each other.

Parking professionals from 8 Dutch cities participated and shared their experiences, challenges and solutions about the parking and mobility policies in their city. The Lunch & Learn Round Table resulted in great conversations and pleasant interaction between the professionals.

“I thought it was a nice and interesting round table session. It is not often that you can discuss parking issues and experiences with fellow cities.” Dolf Roodenburg – Senior Policy Officer Traffic at Municipality of Noordwijk (The Netherlands).
