Efficient and Secure Access for Logistics at DAF Trucks Vlaanderen NV

Traffic congestion and safety at the main entrance

DAF Trucks Vlaanderen NV faced a logistical bottleneck at the main entrance, where both trucks and employees access the site, using the same gate. The heavy traffic not only caused congestion but also posed security risks. To address these challenges, a solution was needed to redirect truck traffic to a separate entrance without requiring additional security personnel while ensuring a high level of safety.

ANPR-based access control with speed gates

To reduce congestion and ensure efficient and secure access control, a dedicated truck entrance was created. This new access point was equipped with two speed gates: one for entry and one for exit. Access is automatically managed by Nedap’s ANPR Lumo cameras, integrated with the CA4000 access control system from CardAccess, exclusively supplied by ARAS Security in the Benelux and installed by Intertronic. Nedap’s ANPR Lumo is an all-in-one, advanced license plate camera for fast vehicle identification and access control with on board image processing.

Once a registered license plate is recognized, the speed gates open automatically, allowing drivers to proceed without delay. This enables a seamless and efficient process without the need for manual security checks.

Secure and seamless parking for executives

Additionally, the same technology was implemented for a separate parking area exclusively accessible to specific groups within DAF. With ANPR Lumo cameras in place, they can enter their designated parking lot securely and effortlessly, without delays or additional verification steps. This enhances convenience while ensuring controlled and efficient access for specific groups within DAF Trucks.

A complete solution by ARAS Security

The complete solution, including the ANPR Lumo cameras and access control system, was supplied by ARAS Security, the distributor of Nedap. Thanks to their expertise and close collaboration with DAF Trucks, a seamless implementation was achieved, successfully meeting both logistical and security objectives.
